AGE & IDENTITY

Premise

An intergenerational conversation designed to explore experiences and perspectives around age.

How It Unfolds

An activity card creates a natural entry point to the discussion, giving guests an opportunity to reflect on the topic before we begin.

Once everyone is present and settled in, I set the stage by explaining the activity and offering a few guidelines for participation. We begin with introductions, where guests are invited to share one takeaway or reaction from the activity.

From there, we break into small groups. Guests then open their activity cards, which contain the question menus that guide the discussion.

The question menu blends personal storytelling with broader philosophical questions, creating multiple access points for different personalities and communication styles. The conversation unfolds organically for 30–45 minutes, after which participants rotate to a new group for another round with a fresh set of questions before returning to the larger group for final reflections.

What Makes It Work

The pace and variety of the experience help maintain energy, distribute participation across the room, and expose participants to a wide range of perspectives. This creates opportunities for depth and connection while generating social energy that carries on beyond the experience itself.
